Update: She has apologized for her mistake...
So everything is settled... :)

So everything is settled... :)
All's well that ends well...
I don't know where to start...
This is such a common practice these days to copy someone else's design & then claim that it is their own..
Today I came across 1 such person's blog who has copied not just 1 or 2 but 5 of my designs... & made some little insignificant changes & not even once has she given any credit to me....
To top it all she has entered the cards in challenges & is accepting all the compliments...
& she is even selling these designs on her website ... for half or one third of what is my price for those cards...!!!
These things make me feel like I should not share what I create online...
I also get inspired by other artists... but I try & give credit to them ...
Below you can see the designs for yourself... the top design is mine & the bottom one is the copied one...
This card was entered in a challenge this January!!!
I have already contacted her... Lets see what she has to say...
This is what disturbing me these days. Have seen so much of copied work and their selling. I feel sad but at the same time jealous. Bcoz by copying they are earning good money.. whereas whoever is originator they dont even know about it. Its been a week I still in this thought. Its very bad.
ReplyDeleteNupur, even if she has stolen you designs, it is so very evident that she cannot match your perfection. You can see for yourself that the finish cannot be like "nupur's"...
ReplyDeleteAs far as stealing designs... you will not be able to control that unless you stop sharing your designs online!
Enjoy your crafting and keep creating... there are a lot of people like me who are your fans :)
i too agree with sakhi nupur, keep going. it is good that you highlighted
ReplyDeleteThis puts me into a deep thought...that we know only few of them..but there are many whom we donot know...ya as Sakhi said..your perfection cannot be attained ...so be confident and yes good that such ppl are brought into light..so that we can me more careful..
ReplyDeleteThis is the reason I have stopped posting my designs... I created some finest designs and tought some of my friends the quilling technique. Now, they are very extroverts and not introvert like me. They have many friends and are good at advertising. Now they are doing great and I am where I was a year back.
ReplyDeleteI have also observed, sometimes even people who blame others that others are stealing their ideas, they too implement part of someone else's idea and do not mention from whom they got inspired.
:( What to do!! This is the reason I am no more posting my work.
its sad, its happening all over. your works are alot better than hers!!
ReplyDeletewould you be willing to let us know who it is, maybe if we all stop by and let her know ,that we know she is coping and should create her own!!!
Paula
SO SAD ...WHAT a bunch of ridiculous peoples here , i think nupur ..you should let us know all ...who is she.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for the support & concern... :)
ReplyDeleteI love sharing my creations with like minded people...
But these things are very disturbing...
People indulging in these practices should understand that a lot of time & effort goes into creating...
If they are inspired & make something similar then atleast they should give credit to its original artist...
Nupur sweetheart..... Don't lose heart.... Everyone of us can clearly see which stands out.... Your creations have the appeal & class which is missing on the ones reproduced.... It even misses the NEAT & CRISP factor your creations have..... One can copy one but can never do it convincingly.... they r just amateurs.... trying to ape in the process of learning... So just ignore them!
ReplyDeleteThere are two kinds of people, those who do the work and those who take the credit. Try to be in the first group; there is less competition there. - Indira Gandhi
Hey Nupur, don't let these things bother you! A copycat is never as good as the original. Your stuff is much, much superior to hers; a single glance is enough to prove that. Such people never last, they move on to prey on other people soon enough.
