Background Technique Using Image Stamps

Hello friends & welcome to So Suzy Stamps inspiration post.
I am sharing a card today with a technique to use your image stamps to create fabulous backgrounds.
Let's have a look at the finished card first before moving on to the tutorial...

It is a very simple technique which will help you to use your stamps in new ways...

  • I started with my Whimsy Tree stamp to create my background. I stamped it with versamark ink several times on my white cardstock & rotated it every time before stamping.
  • Then I heat embossed it using Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder.
  • I then trimmed down this cardstock.

  • Next I used Walnut Stain distress ink & applied directly to the cardstock. The wet ink made the smooth cardstock a little bumpy giving it a little texture.

  • I trimmed it again & glued it down to my card front. I also made a matching thin border by heat embossing a strip of cardstock with Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder.

  • The last step was to add my sentiment to the card. I used my brand new Mini MISTI to position Win Your Battles stamp perfectly on my card. I used Walnut Stain distress ink to stamp my sentiment so that it matches the background.

Here is a close up of the background... I love how the metallic embossing gives it such a royal look...
Hope you enjoyed the tutorial & will give it a try.
