I have a card & tutorial today made with Fresh Cut Dahlias, Geometric Lattice Coverplate Die & First Rate stamp set.
Stay tuned till the end for the Blog Hop GIVEAWAY
I started with spellbinders border die to cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of white cardstock into 2 pieces.
Then I die cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of white cardstock with Geometric Lattice Coverplate Die & then cut the edge with the matching border die to layer on my base piece. I also glued a piece of pink cardstock behind the lacework border window.
Next I stamped the flowers from Fresh Cut Dahlias, stamp set with pink & yellow inks, fussy cut them & adhered them on my card base as shown so that they follow the curved border that I will be layering in the next step.
Adhere the top piece on the cardbase with foam adhesive.
Now stamp the First Rate stamp set on a piece of white cardstock whose edges have been rounded. I used Mini MISTI to position the stamp correctly on my cardstock piece.
Adhere this piece with foam adhesive on the card front as shown.
I also added Gloss Dandelion Yellow Nuvo Crystal Drops below the flowers but I didn't like the result so I decided to do something to salvage my hard work & otherwise beautiful card instead of redoing everything...
I used my papercutter to carefully trim around the flower arrangement. I discarded the bottom portion & adhered the remaining portion of Geometric Lattice Coverplate diecut adhered on white cardstock behind the flower arrangement. Finally I added some half pearls to add finishing touch.
I shared this story of my mistake because I believe mistakes are part of the creative process. Everyone makes them & if you think creatively then you can work around them most of the times & come-up with amazing results. So don't be disheartened if you make a mistake ... try to think of ways to hide or remove that mistake creatively!

ReplyDeleteNupur, this is such a gorgeous card and one that I truly admire you for. I often struggle with what to do with "standalone" dies yet I love them so much...I really don't understand it but it's true. I guess I'm trying to ignore this so I'm not using my standalone dies and obviously, this is not the solution; I need to just start playing with them again! I appreciate you sharing you mistake...it has given me some encouragement to get past my own frustrations! Thanks for sharing Nupur and for participating in this fun hop!
