First Set of Embossed Cards

Hello...
So far this week has been amazing for me.... & specially yesterday was toooo good... I got 5 embossing folders & 2 die sets delivered yesterday.... & I also got some big orders this week... Yay...
My DH got me a BIG SHOT  (Yayyyyy....  ^__^  ) ...I  got the delivery few days ago...
I ordered some Pie Lane Stencils from Ton... He was very helpful & sent the courier immediately after I sent him the list...
I also ordered Birds & Swirls-Cuttlebug embossing folder & Labels Four-Spellbinders Die for Jovita's Store... I got her courier yesterday afternoon... yayyy....
I had ordered some more embossing folders & Dies from Craft Universe... & I got the delivery yesterday evening...!!! ^_^
How amazing is that... 2 deliveries in one day... :)
I'm itching to use all the folders & dies but I have got to complete some orders I got yesterday.... & after that I will be busy preparing for the case... which will contain lots of embossing & Die cutting hopefully... :D
I will post the images & details of my craft Haul in my next post...
Now moving on to the cards....
The first 2 cards are made using pie lane stencils & the 3rd card is made with Birds & Swirls-Cuttlebug embossing folder...

I embossed the left side of the card with Pie Lane stencil & decorated it with some rhinestones to add bling... then I used a punched border & ribbon in the center... For the right side I made some flowers & branches...

This flower was made from a tutorial... The Border is made using a tile punch..

This is my first card with embossing folders... I also did some recycling in this card ... The green & purple Panels are the insides of a medicine pack... I cut the panels ... embossed them & then coloured with water colours... then I added some 3D glitter outliners in matching colours ...the panels are stuck to the card base with foam tapes to give them some dimension & interest... I added a gingham ribbon, bow & a quilled bird for a complete look...

P.S. - Visit this tutorial by Tejal for embossing with Pie Lane Stencils.

Flower & Butterflies

Hello ....
This week Moxie Fab World had amazing Tuesday trigger inspirational pic... I loved the colours in the pic .....very bright & lively... (This is my first time at playing the Tuesday trigger... )

My scrap paper pile was getting bigger & bigger.... so finally I thought of making the cards using those scraps...
I also have some handmade flowers sitting in a box for a long time....waiting to be used... This beautiful pink flower was there for more than 2 months.... This was the first flower I made using my homemade glimmer mist... :) But somehow I never got to use it in any of my projects... & when I saw the inspiration pic at Moxie Fab World I instantly knew this flower will be perfect....

I started building my card around the flower with the colours from the inspiration pic... & this is what I came up with... All the papers are from my scrap paper box... :)
The size of the flower is very large as compared to my previous ones (I used the same type flowers in smaller size for the Garden Explosion Box I made for my mother)....& the punched out leaves were looking very small so I cut the leaves with scissors & then the veins were made with the help of tweezers...

The butterflies are punched out in 2 sizes & a rhinestone is added to the body... The dots are made with Pearl White 3D outliner  from hobby ideas... & the Border is cut with decorative scissors.

Ruffles & Ribbons

Hello...
I have not made a shaped card in a long time & when I saw the ICR's new challenge I thought of giving it a try...
Cards & creations with ruffles have been popping up in the blogosphere everywhere...
I wanted to use ruffles in my card...
I love Pink & I love Ruffles... So I combined both in this card..
I made 3 layers of pink crepe ruffles for the skirt  & then added a satin ribbon with a bow at the top ....the top is decorated with quilled flowers & polka dots...
I used pearl white 3D outliner to make the polka dots..

The skirt looks very pretty in person...

If you are my regular reader you may have noticed that these days I love to make matching envelopes... I decorate the envelopes with some of the elements from the card...This card is no exception... I decorated its envelope with the pink crepe ruffle, ribbon & polka dots...

I think they look very pretty & cute together.. :)

Tile Punch Alignment Tutorial

Hello everyone...
I have made quite some cards with this tile punch... & I absolutely love the effect it creates...
You can view my previous card here, herehere, & here ..
After I posted few card with the tile punch I got a lot of queries regarding its aligning ...
So I thought of making a small tutorial rather than replying each one individually...moreover it is a very simple trick but  it would be a bit difficult to explain without some visual aid...
The images are self explanatory but still I will add some explanation with them...

Things you will need - Cardstock, tile punch, Pencil & ruler.

Start by punching the first tile.

Now slide the punch on one side & the align it with the top point of the small square.. or any other design part of the punched out shape... this step will decide how much gap is left between 2 punched out tiles... This step takes some trial & error... but its easy once you figure out what works for your punch design. & always push the  cardstock  till the very end of punch slot on both sides to keep the punching in straight line.

Repeat the above step till you get the length you want.

Now to punch on the adjoining side in a L  shape measure the distance between the start of the punch & edge of  cardstock  ... here it is 1cm.

Now mark the same distance as shown in the image .. do this on the other side of the cardstock & trim off the excess cardstock.

Now repeat the second step & punch...

Cardstock after 2 more punches..

Keep repeating the above steps to get a border all round the page.

Here is the final card I made with the punched cardstock.

Hope you enjoyed the tutorial....If you still have some doubts feel free to ask me... :)

Another Tile Punch Card

Mother's Day Explosion Box

Hi Everyone...
So are you ready to see the explosion box I made for my mom as a  mother's day gift this year...
I choose 'Garden' theme for this explosion box as my mom loves flowers...be it  real or artificial.... She has a whole cupboard full of artificial flowers made of different materials, types & sizes.... fabric flowers, crystals flowers, natural dried flowers, flowers with glitter on them... the list will go on..... & she keeps on changing the flower arrangement in our home every few months....
She also loves gardening.... we have many plants in our home....

Everything in this explosion box is handmade from scratch.... I have added some details below about the process that went into making it....So go on & enjoy....

I have kept the outside of the box very simple... I just dabbed some white & blue acrylic colour randomly  on the side panels with a sponge...to imitate the sky...  For the top I arranged some flower buds, leaves & a butterfly.

The box after the lid is removed...

The garden looks so real & amazing when the flowers & butterflies dance with the wind... In this picture you can see the butterflies in action.....  ^__^

The grass is made with  1cm strips of fringed paper... I had to fringe a whole A3 sheet to cover the entire base & side panels with grass.... My hands were aching badly after fringing  so much... but the end result was worth it... it looks so fantastic...

The flowers are made with baby pink paper disks cut from scalloped scissors & sprayed with homemade reddish-pink glimmer mist. The center is made with very small yellow beads I found in a local shop. The flowers look so real & beautiful ....

The butterfly is hand painted with acrylic colour, water colour & some 3D outliner with pearl finish... it gives a very beautiful glittery effect to the butterfly... It is not very much visible in the images but in real life it looks beautiful... The antenna is made with very thin wires.. twisted at the ends & dipped in black acrylic paint.

Have you noticed my new watermark?? I was thinking of making one for quite sometime...The idea came from Tejal.... She has made some beautiful watermarks for herself  & some other bloggers... So, I thought of trying it myself..... & finally I made this one...
