Altered Paper Pad

Hello...

My mom wanted to gift her cousin brother something handmade for rakhi...
We decided to decorated a 9.5 x 12 cm pad...
I used a purple & green CS to make the cover...
The top panel is embossed using newly launched Itsy-bitsy embossing folder..
I cut the flower & leaves using cuttlebug dies...
(I was itching to use my new collection of embossing folders & dies....hehehe)
& then I embossed,shaped & assembled them...
I used some green rhinestones to add some bling...

Raksha Bandhan

Hello...

Another quick post to share my preparations for Rakhi this year....

I took some small white envelopes & decorated them with punched paper strips in co-ordinating colours with the rakhis ...

These are small 1.5 inch square envelopes for roli & akshat...
I recycled an old wedding card to make thse cute envies....
The wedding card had Champagne colour on one side & metallic maroon on other side...
I made the envelope with the lighter side...
I used tile punch on the dark side & cut out a square ... then pasted it on the envelope..

Rakhis to be sent out....

Rakhis for my kid brothers...
They have reached their destination & both of my brothers loved them...
Infact one of them was ready to tear off the angry bird off the rakhi & keep it in his collection... hehehe....   :)

Anniversary Magic Explosion Box

This is my first custom order Magic Explosion Box...
In the last post I told you about a fren....
She wanted to gift her hubby a Magic Explosion Box for their 2nd Wedding Anniversary...
She told me that she wanted the theme to be love... but only 1 or 2 hearts....
The base for the box should be black... with red or pink colour...
She also wanted some roses & a cake...& ladybugs...
She also told me to incorporate 2 somewhere in the design as its their 2nd wedding anniversary...
She left the designing entirely on me...

I decided to make the base of the Magic Explosion Box with black, Pink & White colour combination
To give it an elegant & sophisticated look I used white butterflies inside the box along with a white cake decorated with red roses & pearls...

Box from top
I wrote 2 on the top of the box with black quilling strips... & decorated it with some spiral roses, Ladybugs, leaves & a butterfly...

All the sides are done with 2 layers of Ivory board...
I coloured bigger pieces of Ivory board with pink water colour & then layered it with pearl pink colour to make it glimmer...

Then embossed another smaller piece of Ivory board with one side of the embossing folder coloured in pink colour... for a two tone effect...

The Box without the lid
Open Magic Explosion Box...

I made a white cake decorated with tiny spiral red roses & a white butterfly  for the center of the box...

The Cake is actually the lid of a box hidden inside...

The box contains her & her hubby's quilled initials on a heart shaped card... which is decorated with some tiny white pearls & a red ribbon rose...

Close-up of the Initials

Here you can see the butterflies clearly...
I punched 1 butterfly from plain white paper & 1 from parchment paper & then made the design on the parchment butterfly with white pen... then I stuck both of them in the middle & decorated with 2 small white pearls...
