Design Team Voting

Moving on to my project for today...
I have made a fridge magnet using the Pansy from latest Burst of spring release by Heartfelt Creations and I think this is also the first time I am posting the photograph of my daughter on my blog...I took this photograph when she was just 1 month old .... I still can't believe she will turn 2 year old in less than 2 months!!!
This is my favorite photograph of my little princess...I clicked 50-60 photographs in this photo session but I loveeee this one... something about her smile while sleeping melts my heart and calms me everytime I look at it.... I have it as my wallpaper on my PC and a BIIIIIG canvas in my living room and now I made this fridge magnet too....
Enough of my rambling... I won't bore you more with my love for this pic... hehehe

More Post-it-notes

Hello..
Have you noticed my new blog design..

I promised in my last post that I will share the projects I am currently working on..

So here I am back with some new Post-it-Notes Fridge Magnets..

But before I move on to today's project I will answer some questions..
I often get a lot of questions about how do I make my projects..what is the process behind creating my designs...etc.. etc..
& the truth is.. There is no fixed process..
I go with the flow...
I gather things I would like to use...
( If I have some new supplies then 99% chances are that I will use them :)  )
Then I try to arrange them... mix & match... maybe add something else to add interest.. like pearls, rhinestones, ribbons, flowers etc..& experiment till I am satisfied & then I glue them up..
Simple.. :)
The only thing to keep in mind is that you have to experiment & sometimes take some risks to come up with a great idea & design...

Now lets move on to Post-it-Notes...

After searching so many places I finally got my hands on Kraft CS..
& I LOVE it..  :)
And I want to use it in all my projects...
And that is the reason behind my last 2 cards being Kraft based.. hehehe..
I also got vintage Photo & have been using it like crazy.. :)
So when I sat down to make these beauties.. these 2 things were the first things I took..
I also got some pretty PPs (from FMI, A5) & a variety of leaves recently..
So.. I started working & came up with these..

I didn't want to cover the beautiful designs so I just inked the edges with Vintage Photo & added some pearls, rhinestones, holographic glitter glue to most of them..
The 4 post-its in the 1st photo had white spaces on the top where I added some paper roses & leaves..
The springy thing was made with the leftover stems of the roses..

They look much more prettier in person..
All of the above are made from a single sheet of A5 PP.. !!!

I made all of these in a matter of few hours.. Fast na.. :)
There are more designs of Post-it-notes but will share them in my next post..
Do visit my facebook page for some closeup shots..

ICRC27 - One Layer Card + Repeated Stamping

Hello..

I know it is a late post but better late than never...
So, here are my cards that I made for ICR DT inspiration..
The challenge for this month is:

For the 1st card I stamped the butterfly 3 times & then coloured them in different colours..
I also added some colour to the sentiment..
To finish it off I added some piercing in top right corner..

Here is the 2nd card ..
I have masked the yellow part & distressed it...
Sprinkled some water..
Then stamped the images in black ...
Added some colour to the flower centers..
And finally outlined & highlighted with gold marker for some bling & faux layer effect.. :)

Hello..

The Challenge for the month of February at the INDIAN CRAFT ROOM...
ICRC26 - CANDY HOLDER + LOVE IS "UP IN THE AIR!"

This is my first DT project for ICR

I had made this cute bee with heart digi some time back & when I was told the theme for the month this was the first thing that came to my mind... :)
The basket is made with Ivory board..
I used embossed panels & heart border to decorate it...
Then I printed the digi on ivory board & painted it with memento dew drops...
I added glitter to the hearts & wings...
Die cut it with scallop circle & distressed the edges with angel pink dew drop..
I adhered it on to another green die cut with glitter & adhered it to the handle..

P.S. : If you want to buy the digi then mail me... I will upload it in my craft supply shop in a few days...

This is for my customers fiancee..
He saw my Magic Explosion Boxes on his last trip to India & he loved them..
He told me that he wanted to gift 1 to his fiancee on valentine's day..

The only guideline he gave me was that he wanted it to be based on love theme.. & their initials or names should be somewhere...

So go on & enjoy this beautiful & romantic Magic Explosion Box...

The Beautiful Rose is made from Tattered Florals by Tim Holtz..
[ Have I told you how much I love it...   :)   ]

Colouring & Distressing is done with Memento Dew Drops..

Birthday Themed Magic Explosion Box & A Great News...

 Helloo....

So here is the big news...
I am a new ICR  DT member..Yayyyy..
This is the first time for me ...
I am so excited & looking forward to this new experience..  :)

Now onto my new project... Another Birthday themed Explosion box...

This is for the best friend of my customer ..
She wanted to gift her something unique & personalized...
She wanted something  similar to my sister's explosion box I made last year on her birthday..
But it turned out totally different :)
And I am glad that she loved it... & that's all that matters...  :)
Being appreciated for the time & effort you put into a project to make it that extra special
& bring a smile on the recipient's face...  :)

She wanted a picture on the top of the lid..
When I was working on this explosion box I received some dies that I had ordered few days back...
& as I am very impatient when it comes to playing with my new toys I used it on this project... hehehe..
I used golden mirror board & spellbinder's decorative label 8 to make the frame for the photograph
& the sentiment in front (scroll down for the image).

I used 1 inch dark maroon & 5mm emerald green satin ribbon to decorate the side of the lid..
I used some red glitter glue & emerald green mirror board for the box panels

Below is the semi-opened explosion box..

Inside the box..
The balloons & party are die cuts..
The banners is made with ribbons..
The panels are punched, embossed, inked & glittered..

The Box in the center is holding something unusual for an explosion box... ;)

Can you guess what's inside.... :)

Its a real chocolate cake covered with dark chocolate & Fondant flowers... :D
hehehe...

My customer wanted to gift her friend a real cake that she can eat...
& she wanted it in the middle of the explosion box instead of a fake paper cake...
It was an unusual request... but still I took the challenge...
The main problem was to pack it so that it won't spoil the paper & arrive safely & without damage to another city via courier....
So I made another mini explosion box inside attached to the main box
wrapped the cake in cling film & then in bubble wrap..
& put it inside... & tied the lid with a ribbon...
I told you its something unusual... hehehe  :)
Its in transit now... so lets hope it arrives safely...
I will update this post later on to let you guys know if my effort worked or not...

Now its turn for another new die used on this box...
Do you recognize the lacy edge ... ;)

Most of you must have recognized it but for those who want to know the answer...
It is Cherry Lynn French Pastry Doily... ;)
Adds so much elegance to the lid... :)
I love love love my new dies... :)
